（2014年10月8日標記的想讀，兜兜轉轉還是迴來瞭）看到這麼多好評..真是不忍心說：這是一部渣作啊！！是"go die"的鼻祖！！在花樣翻新b-word, c-word的同時，強行加入女權主義；強行變身metafiction，強行說理，強行深沉，強行亂倫...強行嵌入莫名其妙的修飾語...簡直活脫脫另一個Magrete Atwood..不要總拿“非綫性敘事”當幌子寫一些不入流的傢族史，還要冠上民族大義. 西湖的水我的淚，為什麼我要花錢買這本書..已經決定把它送給我下一個最恨的人....

想要瞭解溫哥華曆史，尤其是華人社區史的讀者，Sky Lee的這本書就像一本傢庭史詩，糾集著華人、土著、白人之間三代人的悲歡離閤。大量的場景使得在溫哥華住過的人都會覺得如此熟悉。比如english bay。我是很少看小說的人，但這本小說，page to page讀完瞭。
