I hope you will enjoy the story you are about to read. It is my desire that you get something from the message in this story. Life is short and filled with ups and downs. All we can do is try to make the most of what little time we have. A man should not be judged by the color of his skin or by what name he calls his god. He should be judged by his character and the size of his heart. We are all warriors and life is the battlefield. I tried to paint you a picture of just how beautiful the mountains of western North Carolina are. Its majestic mountains, rolling hills, and mountain streams seem to have a magical appeal. This is a horror story, though. There is blood and suffering, but also a glimmer of hope. After all, life is not all flora and fauna. I hope you enjoy the story as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Iad also like to thank the Cherokee people for their rich cultural beliefs and legends.
