安．萊絲 Anne Rice

生長於紐奧良的天主教家庭，在舊金山大學取得英語創作與政治學的學位，。她開始寫作的起因是她六歲的女兒死於白血病，她將喪女的悲慟以及對生命的疑問化為創作。她的第一本小說《夜訪吸血鬼》即在文壇大放異彩，她也隨即躋身超級暢銷作家之列，之後她陸續出版以黑暗權勢為主題的作品，包括《吸血鬼紀事》、《梅菲爾女巫生涯三部曲》等系列作，儼然成為美國超自然文學的代表作家。
