The Sun Does Shine is a worthwhile examination on the broken American judicial system and deep-seated racism that’s purported it. However the writing could’ve been more visceral in my opinion.

A gut-wrenching journey to freedom and justice. A little bit repetitious, though.

Anthony Ray Hinton是一個有大慈悲大智慧的ex死刑犯。他因為三樁他沒做過的謀殺案、一群隻想找個黑人替罪羊的白人法官檢察官陪審團，在沒有任何證據的情況下蹲瞭三十年的大牢。他對於人類的那種慈悲心與憐憫心，和他對於生活的無限積極熱愛，太讓人震撼瞭。全書最喜歡的就是他與Henry Hays之間unlikely的友誼——ARH相信人不過是命運和環境的産物，所以相信任何人would not have done the wrong if they could have done otherwise；但他又告訴自己不論情況如何惡劣，你總可以選擇善良和積極。最後一章裏列著的死刑犯名單裏有一位是我現在的客戶——如果有一天我能做一名像Bryan Stevenson一樣給人以希望的律師，那就好瞭。
