英國著名作傢。1932年生於特立尼達島上一個印度移民傢庭，1950年進入牛津大學攻讀英國文學，畢業後遷居倫敦。

50年代開始寫作，著有《米格爾街》、《斯通先生與騎士夥伴》、《自由國度》、《河灣》、“印度三部麯”、《非洲的假麵劇》等。2001年榮獲諾貝爾文學奬。

初五晚上看完了《守夜人记事簿》 对短篇小说算不上喜爱 初看契诃夫的时候也会觉得烦躁 一来翻译之过 总让人觉得是借他人之口讲述契叔的故事 有些怪怪的 二来人物略显单薄 没有长篇小说那么有灵与肉 后来读的多了才发现短篇的妙处 短短一篇 就要把一个...
