Humanoid was founded by Sandra Harmsen and Hans Boelens in 1981. The design team has since expanded with designers Cecile Bleijenburg and Marleen van der Ploeg. Harmsen and Boelens follow their instinct, not just in designing but in business as well. This has proved to be a successful strategy as Humanoid’s popularity has stretched beyond the Netherlands. Humanoid is fast becoming an internationally sought after label that is stocked in exclusive stores worldwide. Humanoid is characterized by the use of fabrics that envelope the body in comfortable luxury. The design process starts with the fabrics; how they fall, feel and dye. This results in clothes with a relaxed fit that are pleasure to wear: elegant but with an edge perfect for modern urban warriors.
