The Romans are fighting the Germaniums. It's the era of Emperor of Marcus, with his son at the front lines. He captures the Empress of the Germanium Empire, and her daughter. He kills the mother, making the daughter watch. The daughter is forced into slavery, and has to survive on her own and with help of Festus, becomes free but must run on her own from the front lines into a very different world from what she was raised to know.
