英国特工在俄国内战期间潜入已经乱成一锅粥的俄国中亚并最终逃出是最精彩的部分，之后就没啥意思了。比起大博弈那本书只能说差强人意。PS：本书所描述的金树仁在杨增新遇刺事件中所扮演的角色与包尔汉回忆录所描述的是不一样的，以致于我对于这本书部分故事真实性产生了怀疑。

Peter Hopkirk travelled widely in the regions where his six books are set - Central Asia, the Caucasus, China, India and Pakistan, Iran, and Eastern Turkey. He worked as an ITN reporter, the New York correspondent of the old Daily Express, and - for twenty years - on The Times.
