前兩天在看賈木許的電影paterson，描述一個公交車司機業餘詩人緩慢的日常生活，讓我覺得頗為乏味。然後今天讀到瞭這本書，突然明白瞭賈木許在拍這部電影的時候想的就是williams，在rutherford生活瞭50多年，他的詩寫的也正是普通人，普通事，普通的日常。也明白瞭為什麼這部電影和William的詩對我沒有共鳴，因為new jersey從來都不是我的傢鄉，雖然我在那裏住瞭七年。
