The concept of the global village has exist—

those of us who live in the United States live

in a multicultural nation．Students in today’s

world need to develop an understanding and

respect for people and cultures in their own

nation and around the world．Globe Fearon’s

Global Studies Series hopes to contribute to

building that understanding and respect．

Globe Fearon’s Global Studies Series con—

sists of six student books and six teacher’s

resource manuals．Each student book intro．

duces students to the geography,history,and

culture of a specific region of the world．The

introduction．The chapters are further divided

culture and the basic principles of geography,

including the five themes．The rest of the book

is devoted to the specific region being covered．

ment is an ongoing activity that students can

begin as they start a chapter and complete as

they read．Each chapter also has a Case
