作者文筆是好的，但是感覺過於ambitious。書中介紹瞭過多的人物，紛紛雜雜的復綫劇情，但又沒有一條明確的主綫。作者試圖寫2008年的經濟危機和madoff的旁氏騙局，又想寫5、60年代的畫傢，又想寫加拿大鄉下的生活，還寫瞭點運輸業，太雜瞭就失去瞭主乾。看故事前兩章的時候以為paul是主角，後來以為vincent是主角，看著看著jonathan變成瞭主角，每一章主角都在變。一直到讀到80%多時候作者還在介紹新人物就有點過分瞭。如果能夠不要這麼貪多可能故事能夠更精彩一點，立意也會更突齣一點。現在讀完全書我不知道作者想錶達什麼。

畫麵感太好瞭，很多楨都有沉浸式體驗，仿佛我就在人物之中… 剪短發，玻璃上的塗鴉，碎紙，拋傢，每個場麵都可以輕鬆腦補，很特彆的文風～（btw 作者美...）

今年讀過最好的一本書瞭！其中一個原因可能是小說裏的城市我比較熟悉。讀完可以配閤聽一聽nerdette這個podcast裏講這本書的那集，解析的太到位瞭！她們講的我最喜歡的一段是解析作者那句人們隻喜歡從高級酒店的玻璃窗看到自然的美景，並不喜歡身處wild nature之中。這本書的關鍵詞大概就是偷竊（Alkaitis 龐氏騙局，Paul偷Vincent的錄像，Vincent媽媽“偷走”Paul爸爸...）和縱容（Alkaitis 17樓的員工，明知騙局還是參與的investors，當然還有Vincent）吧。

感覺作者風格不適閤我，好多地方沒看懂。人物行為邏輯摸不著頭腦，場景也難以想象，懸疑點也不是我想看的，還時不時夾幾個超奇怪的生詞，比如我印象深刻有個doppelgängers（應該是重影的意思）希望影視改編能好好做吧
