Since its inception a decade agoï¼Œ the International Conference on the Unity of the Sciences has had as its stated goal to shed critical light on the moral and human dimensions in the application of science and technology to the pressing problems of society. In steady pursuit of this goalï¼Œ the Conference has become an established international forum for multidisciplinary exchange of views on timely and significant issues of growing worldwide concern. These volumes represent the Tenth Anniversary meeting of ICUSï¼Œ convened on November 9-13ï¼Œ 1981 in Seoulï¼Œ Korea in the homeland of the founderï¼Œ the Reverend Sun Myung Moon. It is my conviction that such an ideal world in which all people enjoy true life will certainly come.
