From Library Journal This is not a how-to-build-one book but an idea manual, presenting the author's very definite opinions on the design and furnishing of doll-houses. Nisbett urges authenticity in the planning and construction of the period house. He provides numerous historical details to achieve this end, including 200 color photographs illustrating houses and furniture by British artisans. Particularly charming are the houses done in the styles of architects Charles Rennie Macintosh and William Morris. Other periods covered include Tudor, Georgian, Regency, Victorian, and the Twenties and Thirties. The book's only drawback is that the listed sources for materials are British. Still, this is recommended for public libraries, and selectors are urged to watch for other publications from Master Craftsman.- Patricia B. Brown, Navistar Corp.
