Association members recognize<br >diversity in our society and embrace a~ross- cultural approach in support of the worth， dignity， potential， and<br >uniqueness of each individual. <br >The specification of a code of ethics enables the association to clarify to current and future members， and to those<br >served by members， the nature of the ethical responsibilities held in common by its members. As the code of ethics<br >of the association， this document establishes principles that define the ethical behavior of association members. All<br >members of the American Counseling Association are required to adhere to the Code of Ethics and the Standards of<br >Practice. The Code of Ethics will serve as the basis for processing ethical complaints initiated against members of<br >the association.<br ><br >
