Florida's most flamboyant city is changing fast. The fabled tourist industry is booming: the designer hotel craze shows no signs of slowing, with new additions in the next year from big players, such as The Mondrian, The W and New York's Gansevoort, plus the grand reopening of the iconic Fontainebleau Hotel. The bar, club and music scenes continue to flourish, attracting international DJs, Latin pop stars and North America's top hip-hop producers. The architecture scene is thriving too: in addition to the art deco district, Miami is gaining kudos for its current crop of innovative designers, who are furnishing the horizon with sleek new skyscrapers. Many of these house the massive influx of immigrants from Latin America, who are fuelling the city's explosive growth.
