理查德·道金斯(Richard Dawkins)，英國皇傢科學院院士。牛津大學教授，著名科普作傢、生物學傢，英國皇傢學會會士。

理查德·道金斯是目前全世界最著名的無神論者，2005年14月30日他公開錶明自己無神論者的身份。他也是全世界最具爭議的進化生物學傢，他的每一本書都是暢銷書，他還經常在各大媒體討論、評論科學的各個麵相。《盲眼鍾錶匠》與續篇《攀登不可能的山》(Climbing Mount Improbable,1996)都是進化生物學的入門書。道金斯的理論著作，除《自利的基因》外以《延伸的錶現型》(The Extended Phenotype,1982)最為重要。《盲跟鍾錶匠》獲得英國皇傢文學學噲非小說類最佳圖書奬與美國《洛杉磯對報》的文學奬。英國廣播公司(BBC)根據本書拍攝的電視片《萬惡之源？》，獲得最佳科學紀錄片奬。另外他的《解析彩虹》是最受讀者歡迎的作品。

陳蓉霞，1961年11月齣生於上海市。1983年畢業於華東師範大學生物學係。1986年畢業於華東師範大學自然辯證法研究所，獲哲學碩士學位。現任上海師範大學哲學學院教授。

主要著作有《進化的階梯》、《破譯生命密碼》、《兩性衝突》等。

主要譯著有《起源之戰》、《適應與自然選擇》、《行走於理性的鋼絲上》、《安妮的盒子》等。

恩~，我虽然没有通读此书，但读过有关片段章节的中文翻译（由柯南翻译的）。我对于作者在无神论上、以及在对待宗教的态度上都非常认同。这也是我喜欢看《Dr.House》的原因，据说那个角色在对待无神论以及宗教的态度上，就参考了理查德·道金斯的理念和观点。
