Photographer Sam Shaw was one of Marilyn Monroe's closest friends, and he recorded many Marilyns in the course of her brief life. The famous "skirt-blowing" shot from the set of The Seven-Year Itch is Shaw's (and reproduced here), but he also took candid backstage photographs and playful images of a relaxed Marilyn at leisure.
