Paul is such a complicated character. He desires the glamour and spoils of life, yet refuses to conceive the hard work that leads to the glamour and spoils. He lies to himself that he is born to be extraordinary, yet he lacks the talent to be extraordinary. Being a high school teacher, I find that Paul is actually not a rare case.
