The story starts with Rory Connor, who is a rent collector and engaged to be married to his childhood sweetheart ,Janie.
Rory is a gambler who wants bigger games with higher rewards,he aims to get into games with Frank Nickle the local Bigshot but this has disastrous results,after being married to Janie for a short time his marriage comes to a disastrous end.
Rory s future starts to look brighter and he later marries his boss s daughter,but things don t go so smoothly after a ghost from his past comes back to haunt him,then Nickle starts to show his dark side to protect his evil secrets, with heartbreaking results.?
