Anybody who follows the advice and instruction in
this book can become a winning bridge player in only
five weeks. If you already have a good knowledge of the
game, you can progress much faster than this, but we
urge you to start at the very beginning and do at least
one lesson a day.
(If you have never played bridge before, it will take
a few extra days to familiarize yourself with the me-
chanics of the game, as explained on the fourteen pages
that follow. Anyone who has previously played bridge
may skip this section unless he wishes to brush up a
bit before getting to the heart of the matter-winning
bridge. )
This book will do you no good if you just put it on the
shelf. The road to you-know-where is paved with good
intentions, but there s no need for you to join the millions
of bridge players who are already there.
