語言學入門應該是所有人的必修課，這套課程介紹瞭語言的由來、變化以及動態，非常有趣。更關鍵的是它揭示瞭很多平時對語言的誤解。1，沒有語言、隻有方言。2，方言比官方語言更語言。3，在無刻意限定的情況下語言的變化速度極快。

[有聲書] The Great Courses係列的有聲課程，語言學入門。講者很幽默，整個講義串得很好，至少讓我這個外行覺得收獲不少。語言的成長、演變和消亡，口語、書麵語和手語（手語屬於人工語言），還有pidgin和creole這種一代和二+代的多語言混閤。最有趣的是，看pidgin/creole的形成過程，也能反推一些要消亡語言的消亡過程（舉個或許不夠恰當的例子：我們之前愛說，我們隻會說“中國加油”而日本會說“風月同天”）。所以一些中英文夾雜使用如果能成氣候的話（比如“hold住”），或許很有發展潛力。我之前略有所聞的文化和語言關係的Sapir-Whorf假說，作者錶示反對。另外，講者的演講風格和課程設計很值得學習！！
