For more than 30 years the Swiss artist Roman Signer (born 1938) has been fascinated by natural forces, the transformation of materials through time and the containment and release of energy. Variously combining three-dimensional objects, live action, still photography and video, Signer’s works involve the careful planning, enactment and recording of collisions, explosions and other similar acts. Deceptively simple, these ‘time sculptures’ appeal to the viewer through their mix of visual beauty, mobile poetry and pitch-perfect humour. This elegant survey of Signer’s artistic career features an essay relating his works to ideas about time, humour and the environment, and an in-depth interview with the artist, as well as 150 illustrations of his memorable time sculptures.

这个会让人笑出声。便利贴上写着:不会再版。于是我明白为什么要戴手套翻阅了。
