This book is about the Mobile Riverine Force in Vietnam. They fought on the rivers and canals of Vietnam in armored assault craft that resembled the ironclads of United Sates Civil War. It almost seems as if these water borne craft were destined to return on hundred years later and carry the fight to the enemy in the Mekong Delta. Their story is little known, but long remembered by those who saw them in action. About the author: Russell G. Robinson was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, 1946, and moved to Dallas, Texas, in 1958. After graduating from Richardson High School in 1964, he attended East Texas State University until joining the U.S. Navy in 1967. He served aboard the U.S.S. Lexington (CVS-16) where he volunteered for services in Vietnam, arriving "in country" during the Tet offensive in 1968. He was assigned for duty at NSA Dong Tam, and served three tours of duty until discharged in 1970. He currently lives in Red Oak, Texas.
