Understanding Faith is a book for all Episcopalians. Written in basic and clear language, The Rev. C.W. McPherson introduces the core concepts of Christian theology using the Nicene Creed and the Episcopal Catechism as an organizing principle. Unlike other books of theology, this one incorporates 20th century science, philosophy, literature, and history and draws particularly on Ludwig Wittgenstein's understanding of linguistic analysis. An excellent introduction to theology in the Anglican tradition. The Rev. C.W. Mcpherson has spent twenty years in parish ministry and is also a spiritual director, retreat leader, and a mentor for deacons and priests in formation. He teaches theology and church history, and is a published poet. He is rector of St. John's, New Rochelle, New York.
