The first history of Indian literature in English to cover the two hundred years from Raja Rammohan Ray to Arundhati Roy, this book takes up the canonical poets, novelists, and dramatists, as well as many unjustly forgotten figures, who have made significant contributions to the evolution of Indian literature in English.
