Enzo Cucchi's work is made up of distant lands populated by strange fauna and unreal humans, a universe that even Cuchi narrates somewhat ethereally, thanks to the stunning evocativeness achieved through his lively colours. Defined by critics as "intuitive" or as a "visual poet", he takes inspiration from the exploration of inner feelings and the imagination. This exhibition catalogue includes his important pieces "Earth Pictures of a Painter" (1980), "Heroic Red Seas" (1981), "The House of the Barbarians" (1982) and more recent pieces like "Desert Scrolls" (2001). Exhibition: international Centre for Contemporary Art, Castello Colonne, Genazzano, Rome. June - September 2002.
