The gates were closed, the sun was gone down, and there was no beauty but the gray beauty of steel that withstands all the time. Even the grief he could have borne was left behind in the country of illusion, of youth, of the richness of life, where his winter dreams had flourished.
评分三星半吧。就是一個短短的情節也簡單的故事，有些cliché, 但菲茨傑拉德的文字還是很美。感覺他的描寫冷靜，卻含有狂熱和悲傷。最後給人一種戳不破的憂鬱，“Long ago, there was something in me, but now that thing is gone." 到底that thing 是什麼，誰能說清呢。
评分號稱Gatsby的原型，確實和Gatsby的故事情節有相像，Daisy和Judy大概都隻適閤存在夢裏吧，現實容不下她們的。
