讲Annabelle悲惨的经历，丧失家人和爱人，被朋友和社会误解。最后渡洋去欧洲开始新生活，成为一名医生。我特别欣赏这种向远方寻自由的经历，比如奔向布拉佛斯的Arya，还有毛姆笔下的Larry,Strickland,Phillip。不过这本书我有两处不解：1，Anna和同性恋丈夫两年没有性生活，竟然还爱他，并且不认为丈夫有问题，有点扯吧。2，Anna既然继承那么丰厚的遗产，何必还在乎别人的误解和白眼啊，完全可以去世界上任何一个地方过自己想要的生活。事实上她是这样做的，离开美国，来到欧洲，同时非常伤心。当看到她完全不为医学院的学费发愁时，我替她高兴，有钱真好。
