The story chronicles the lives of the children of these families that lived and had their businesses on Carson Street The families were Mill town Irish, Jewish and Polish. Life in America was not at all like their fantasies when they left their homeland to reside in Pittsburgh. It was hard work, hunger, and deprivation. Scotch and Holy Water tells the story of the three families lives affected by the Depression, World War II and the decline of morals due to fast and easy money. It is a story of perseverance, friendship, and the intertwined relationships of the children of those families. It serves as a legacy to all the immigrants who came to America to find a better life, but this success did not come without a cost. However they all had the same vision: Prosperity, Happiness and Contentment They were all on a Journey of Hope for a better life. Scotch and Holy Water is entertaining, sad, and joyous. It's about all of us who lived in those days. It echoes the hopes and dreams of anyone and everyone. If we had walked in their shoes, would we have done any better?
