Open Innovation describes an emergent model of innovation in which firms draw on research and development that may lie outside their own boundaries. In some cases, such as open source software, this research and development can take place in a non-proprietary manner. Henry Chesbrough and his collaborators investigate this phenomenon, linking the practice of innovation to the established body of innovation research, showing what's new and what's familiar in the process. 就读了前面序言和导论。没觉得怎么个impressive。开放式创新？一种新范式？确实，但是impressive吗？没这个感觉。可能是时代变了，都9102年。简而言之，开放式创新就是将创新的过程理解的更加社会化，网络化，开放，创新并不是一个完全企业内部的东西了。这种理论的提出来跟作者研究了施乐公司（搞创新的spillover都被别人value-capture了）和当年的Cisco自己不怎么搞创新当年收购来获取创新知识的浪潮相关
