Katherine Tyler's cross-country train trip is unexpectedly derailed when she is kidnapped by an unscrupulous band of outlaws. Her worried father calls out the Texas Rangers but only a a cowboy named T. C. Castle knows the bend of South Texas well-enough to catch the ringleader responsible. After freeing Katherine, T. C. spirits her away to his remote ranch where he lives with his handicapped 5-year old daughter, Emily.
