這本論文集從Ann Stoler和Doreen Massey的兩套理論齣發，目的是為瞭擴充imperial history的definition和scholarship。不過，既然是討論intimacies across colonial/imperial space，為什麼連一篇關於地圖和其他視覺材料的論文都沒有啊（連插圖的地圖都沒有）？還有，為什麼Burton這一派的人總是繞著印度、非洲還有澳大利亞轉來轉去，死活不去討論亞洲啊（譬如香港）？蠻奇怪的。
