Gabrielle Segovia never imagined she would become a santera. She's never even heard of the word. As a scientist and college professor, she struggles to build a career as a Latina academic while coping with three unexplained miscarriages. Then, fate leads her to a French Quarter voodoo shop. When the predictions from her on-a-whim reading start to come true, Gabrielle discovers she hails from a long line of practitioners of Santeria, the religion created when Yoruba slaves combined their ancient rituals with Catholicism.
