Why do some competent hardworking people skyrocket in their careers while others who are just as capable and talented fall short of the same success? The answer does not lie with gender, education, intelligence, level in the organization, tenure with the company, or years of experience. Rather, the critical factor that determines whether people make it into the winner's circle is the way they conduct themselves daily during the course of doing business. While winners certainly "play by the rules' they also do something else. Those who succeed abide by simple yet critical codes of conduct - unwritten laws that mentors won't always teach and colleagues might neglect to mention.
