杰克·伦敦 Jack London，美国著名的现实主义作家、记者和社会活动家。1876年生于旧金山，1916年去世时年仅40岁。曾短暂入读加州大学伯克利分校，后因经济窘迫而辍学谋生。从1900年起，连续发表和出版了大量小说、报告文学、散文等，讲述下层民众的生活。其作 品带有浓厚的社会主义色彩，在各国读者中广为流传，为他赢得了世界性的声誉。代表作有《野性的呼唤》《海狼》《白牙》《马丁·伊登》等。

深渊居民这本书是我在看《诡秘之主》时候发现的书。诡秘之主里面对于二十世纪蒸汽革命期间贝克兰德这个大都市的底层居民描写十分细致，现在看来作者确实在相当程度上借鉴了《深渊居民》之中的描述。网文日更带来的压力太大了，我觉得如果能给乌贼足够的时间，诡秘之主可以更好...
