It can become difficult to separate the teachings of Buddha from our own practice of them — a struggle explored in Thich Nhat Hanh’s Thundering Silence . Ideology is valuable, but NhatHanh tells readers that practice must adapt to the world in which ideology exists. The attitude of openness, non-attachment from views, and playfulness offered by the Buddha in this sutra is an important door for us to enter the realm of Mahayana Buddhist thought and practice.
