The award-winning Elements Mall in Hong Kong--completed in 2007 by the internationally acclaimed Hong Kong-based architects, master planners and interior designers Benoy--is a masterwork of Modernist design. This volume, part of a series of single-structure monographs, showcases the mall through hundreds of stunning images from the initial planning stages through its completion. With the vision of transcending the usual mall paradigm, Benoy Executive Director Simon Blore aimed to give the structure a unique identity so that it relates to its place, its location--something that Benoy endeavors to accomplish with all of its projects--by drawing inspiration from the Chinese feng shui principles of the five elements of nature: fire, earth, wood, water and metal. Benoy expressed these with a variety of colors and textures, creating five different, yet connected, retail zones. Metropolitan, confident and dynamic, the structure reflects Benoy's design ethos and commitment to creating successful destination places worldwide.
