Pyle and Dr. George M. Gould. The original illustrations are included from the 1901 edition. Volume two includes unusual cases including recovery after being struck by a lightning bolt, living fish in the pharynx, "camel boy," sword-swallowing, injuries during coitus, wanderings of pins and needles through the body, "Ossified man," an arrow wound of the bladder, through the buttocks, "Ear sneezing," the dancing mania, aichmophobia or the fear of the sight of any sharp-pointed instrument, and historical accounts of the Black Plague pandemic.
