Interior design - it mediates between architecture and human beings, between the walled-in immobility of a building and its inhabitants or visitors. Its task is to transform undefined rooms in museums, flats, offices, theatres and churches, and to allow living space into the naked structures of building construction. The design of these rooms always allows for inferences pertaining to style, preferences and needs of their users. The 50 projects from all areas collected in this book represent a representative cross-section offering insights into the many-sided production of German interior design. The individual projects are introduced and elucidated with the help of large-scale photos and brief, easily comprehensible descriptions.
