The Monk of Bielenburg takes the reader on a journey from the innocence of youth to the temptations of adulthood and the wickedness of the world. Albert Nycemonn, a young Austerlean man living in the provincial town of Bielenburg, is drawn to converting to the Orthodox Church after becoming disconcerted with the perverse, worldly behavior of his fellow townspeople. Once a Christian, he becomes tempted by the philosophies of a dictator named Hertzoginmeier, who's sole desire is to destroy all non-Christians in the neighboring lands for the sake of purifying the globe. Although Albert rises to power in the government of Hertzoginmeier, the New Rule Party, his ultimate choice is to abandon earthly gain, in order to perfect himself in Christ. This work has strong Christian themes and may appeal to those who seek a purpose in their Christian lives.
