Two Forks, Texas, rancher Blair Bishop has to contend with a rival cowman who is turning his herd loose on Bishop's land, and also with a mean customer named Macy Modock, whom Bishop sent to prison. Modock is out of the hoosegow and has returned to Two Forks determined to get even with the man who sent him up the river. Modock plots a scheme to pay Bishop back and end up with his and a neighbour's land and cattle. The neighbour, Clarence Cass, is no fan of Bishop's, and he willingly joins forces with Modock to ruin Bishop. Laying claim to land where Bishop grazes cattle is only the beginning of what boils into an unstoppable confrontation.
