In January of 2005, a storm raged through several western states that flooded rivers, destroyed homes, and took several lives. Days before the brunt of the storm hit, Carmen Anderson moved with her teenage daughter to a house on the banks of one of those rivers, in a town she'd fled years earlier. With her daughter's life suddenly in peril, Carmen is forced to confront the real reason that she is returning home, after years of running from her past.
