What is madness?" asks the narrator of Ahmed Alaidy's jittery, funny, and angry novel. But lurking under the rocks in his grouchy, chain-smoking, pharmaceutically-oriented, twenty-something life are characters like his elusive psychiatrist uncle with a disturbing interest in phobias.
