Steel-muscled young Texan, Jim Rutledge, is about to make his first drive alone with the herds up the trail from Texas. He refuses to be worried by his father's fear that old Devil Dave and his hellion sons, Pete and Sam, are about to settle a long-smouldering grudge against the Rutledges. Chandler Rutledge is temporarily laid up with a bad leg. Devil Dave Moss isn't aiming to forget that he was once driven from the state by Chandler Rutledge.
