The author of "Santa Fe Style shares the Christmas traditions of her hometown, capturing the inimitable spirit of Santa Fe in December in over 100 full-color photographs of holiday scenes. Christmastime traditions highlighted in this little book include plaza performances of the folk plays Los Posadas and Los Pastores, and, at the Pueblos, Matachinas dancers and snow kachinas. Santa Fe holiday decor includes wreaths fashioned from ristras, streets lit up by farolitos and luminarias, votive candles in brown paper sacks filled with sand. The author includes a sampler of local recipes, from burritos (with red and green chile sauce) to posole and biscochitos.
