Laced with folk traditions of Korean and American cultures, SIMPLE WISHES is a story that explores the mysterious connectivity between mothers and daughters. After a long estrangement from her mother and her mother's subsequent death, Adele is forced to leave her city life to return to her mother's cottage in the mountains. Determined to tie up loose ends and return home as quickly as possible, Adele isn't prepared for the way this small mountain town will change her life. Adele meets Beatrice, an elderly Korean woman whose tradition of honoring her ancestors challenges Adele to forgive the mother who betrayed her long ago. And love unexpectedly knocks at her door in the form of Jay, a reclusive but handsome artisan. Through her blooming love with Jay, Adele will finally overcome her mother's hidden past and finds the love she's been longing for her entire life.
