The coming of age for a boy or girl is the birth of an adult. This story tells of such a time for a young Native American boy and his friends. It tells of the power that can be bestowed upon even a young adult by the Great One (God). This boy about to be a man will find out that his life will be more than he ever dreamed. He will find that there is more to this world than most people ever understand. As he walks into the winter home of his tribe, he has no idea what powers he will have before he leaves to go to the summer home on the coast. He will learn what it means to be a man. He will hunt, fish, fall in love and even kiss as we learn about a real Native American tribe, the Penobscot of Maine.
