本周第四本，史料和文筆比Carey齣的三本要好很多。整體依然是李提摩太生平記錄與評述，Reeve和後來Evans都對李氏所說的尋找“worthy”下瞭具體的定義。另外他的“世界聯盟”的思想是為和平提齣的，而和平則是實現上帝之國在大地上建立的要求，同時，思想精神和科學技術在其中缺一不可。李提摩太太理想化瞭，夢想很遠大，現實很艱難（近代傳教和侵略的關係是怎麼也撇不清的），一生奉獻給上帝，也間接部分奉獻給瞭中國。
