一九六九年舊作在電影大熱後重齣炒冷飯。作者完全不必浪費那麼多篇幅總結概括LotR同Hobbit的故事內容，Tolkien生平也有點多餘，會看這類書的人，多數不需要這樣的簡介瞭。後半部關於歷史文學史詩的介紹就有趣得多，如果隻有後半部內容且再豐富些，便非常值得推薦！
