非常奇特的末日题材漫画。如果不是小主人公Gus那对古怪的鹿角，这个故事的开头几乎就是科马克·麦卡锡的小说《路》的翻版：空洞的末日背景，母亲早逝，慈父和儿子艰辛度日，最后父亲患病撒手人寰，留下儿子独自面对广阔世界。只是《路》中陪儿子上路的是慈爱却又严厉的父亲，Gus的旅伴却是一个伊斯特伍德式的老牛仔，整个故事的基调自然也就大不相同了。用作者JeffLemire的话来说，这是一次“疯狂马克斯遇见小鹿斑比”。
